Both the textiles of Cordillera and Ilocos are hand-woven but they differ in the following matters.
The textile products of Ilocos Region are recognized by its uniform, interlocked geometric patterns that result in psychedelic optical art designs, which are said to represent the waves of the sea and, among indigenous peoples of the Cordilleras, protection against malevolent spirits. Designs range from whirlwinds and stars to fans, cat’s pawprints, and capiz windows.
Whereas, the textile products of Cordillera were perceived to depict mountains and forests and things used for production of crops. They create and weave patterns based on what was important to them.
